A Better Circle of Life
We have a conundrum in this country. People are living longer, but their standard of care is diminishing. As a culture, we are obsessed with youth and our elders seem to be left out to dry. The number of adults aged 65 and older is likely to double in the next 25 years. Double.
So, what are we to do? What lessons can we learn from our elderly? In earlier civilizations, we brought our aging populations into our homes. It was an interesting continuum, not without its challenges, between younger and older generations. For the moment it seems our seniors are falling into the shadows of their later years.
