I just froze and made that awkward “I’m a bad person” face, but she let me off the hook with a casual laugh. I thanked her for not doing that terrible marital cliché where the wife gives a nice firm twist of the guilt knife for the husband not noticing something. For an entire week.

Yep. My wife had a combat-boot wearing rocker phase.

These ear piercings went with my wife’s combat-boot wearing rocker phase. Which is very difficult for many people to imagine. Including myself.
