Wallet – Scrabble Scribble #15
Every kid picks up and makes up various symbols of adulthood. Things that say they’re all growed-up.
They can clearly see that there are some pretty cool things we vertically-superior people can do that they can’t. As well as things we DON’T have to do. Terrible things like holding hands when crossing a street, sit frozen in the web of straps and buckles car seat, and most espeically and in particular, go to school.
With these powerful incentives, some kids try to cheat the system a bit.
Some still-green little humans might grab a permanent marker and draw tattos all over themselves to look grown-up enough to use a “plastic slidey card” to buy their own toys. Maybe they’ll tie milk cartons (still full, of course) to their shoes so they’re tall enough to go on a big-person ride. They could even sneak off to trim their bangs and tape the hair to their chest, so they can see a scary movie.
Hopefully it’s just something like getting their first wallet, though. Yikes and PHEW!
